St John’s and St Peter’s CE Primary School is a one-form entry school with around 210 children on roll, from Reception through to Year 6. We’re proud to be a faith school rooted in Christian values, serving the vibrant and diverse community of Ladywood, right in the heart of Birmingham.
We are part of The Fioretti Trust, a small family of Church of England schools across the city. Together, we share a commitment to nurturing every child, helping them flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually.
We describe ourselves as a school family, and visitors often comment on the warm, friendly atmosphere as soon as they walk through the door. Our Christian vision is at the heart of all we do: placing God’s love in action so our children flourish, our culture is transformed, and our community thrives.
This is lived out daily through our Daily Devotions, inclusive classrooms, a strong sense of nurture, and high expectations for all pupils. Every child matters here, and we work hard to make sure everyone feels seen, valued and celebrated.
We are proud to be known as a community school, with deep and lasting relationships across Ladywood. Our popular monthly event, The Big Breakfast, brings together hundreds of people from across the area for food, fun and connection.
We work closely with local churches, including St John’s and St Peter’s Church and Gas Street Church, as well as partners like Colmore Bid, the Ladywood Project, local businesses and the community centre. Our team of volunteers adds another layer of support and love to the life of the school.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to give every child the knowledge and skills they need to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. We set the bar high for all learners, and our dedicated staff team ensures lessons are engaging, purposeful and ambitious.
We support the whole child - not just their academic progress but also their wellbeing, faith and confidence. With the help of Lucca, our therapy dog, and a deeply pastoral approach, we nurture children who are resilient, thoughtful and ready to make a difference in the world.
Inclusion is more than a word at St John’s and St Peter’s - it’s a lived reality. From Culture Day to Sports Week, our calendar is full of opportunities for children and families to come together, share experiences, and celebrate who they are.
We go the extra mile to make sure no one feels left out. We believe every child has a unique contribution to make - and it’s our job to help them find it.
Our staff team is highly trained, hard-working, and deeply committed to our children. But more than that - they’re happy. There is a genuine buzz around school, and we work collaboratively to create a place where everyone feels supported and inspired.
Leadership here is rooted in service and a shared belief that the children come first, always.
